Born in Pozzuoli in 1967, Luigi is the first of seven children in a Puteolian family.
He spent his early years in Pozzuoli, then moved to Arco Felice near the rione
Toiano, because of the earthquake tremors that struck the city in the 1970s.
From a young age, Luigi had a great passion for the art of acting and cinema, showing
immediately a great talent in being able to express himself at his best within the world of
cinema.
He began his theatrical training by attending the “Maria Callas” academy in Bagnoli.
Currently, however, he attends the acting school “Lab Actors” of Antonio Milo, Salvatore
Catanesi and Ciro Esposito, where he began acting in numerous films and dramas, becoming a face
known and appreciated by the public.
In 2002, enrolling in the Neapolitan film production agency Studio Rapa, he obtained a first role in the TV series “La Squadra.” The series, set in the fictional “commissariato Sant’Andrea” in the Piscinola neighborhood of Naples, is premiered on RaiTre. After a short time, he got a second role in the Italian soap opera set in Naples “Un posto al sole” aired on the same channel. The drama still turns out to be not only the first soap opera entirely produced in Italy, but also the longest-running, holding the record for the number of episodes aired. It concludes its debuts in 2005 with “All the Invisible Children,” a film divided into seven short films, which tell of the daily lives of “Invisible” children in different parts of the world.” The episode set in Naples, with Stefano Veneruso directing, tells the story of two Neapolitan children who live amidst severe hardship and crime.
In 2017, he starred in the docu-series “Camorriste“. The miniseries, which aired on Sky, offers an unprecedented look inside the lives of some women who have been part of one of the most dangerous organizations in the world: the Camorra. Among his most recent work experiences, his acting performances as the delinquent and shoulder-guard Savastano in “Gomorrah” stand out. The Italian TV series, inspired by Roberto Saviano’s novel of the same name, premiered on Sky Italia from 2014 to 2021.
Also notable is his appearance in the big TV hit “Mare Fuori“. The TV series, a drama genre with record ratings, tells the story of a group of young inmates in a prison overlooking the sea loosely inspired by the one in Nisida. He also stars in Giuseppe Di Renzo’s “AFilmbaimichi” (2022), Monica Vullo’s “Resta con me” (2023) and Edoardo De Angelis’ “La vita bugiarda degli adulti” (2023).
